more firsts

maddie has had her share of firsts in the last week.  we decided to start her on rice cereal (which as you may know is not much thicker than the milk she already drinks) and since her friend, eric, was at the lake for the fourth of july, we decided to let her take her first dip into the lake with him.  she seems to have liked both although the cereal is becoming more of challenge since she has discovered that she can hold the spoon and keep it from making it to her mouth (and therefore spilling most of it on her bib since it's so liquidy).  here are some pics and videos from this week. maddie also got her first hug from her friend eric.  steve wasn't very happy about this...(C:  he gave her a kiss too but we couldn't get the pic fast enough.  we'll post pics from this soon.  as you will see the lake event was well documented...as it should be.
